I recently met Kristina and her love of making wooden wedding signs. Being a DIY kind of girl, she made signs for her own wedding and then just couldn’t stop! Check out her etsy shop and order your own personalized signs for your wedding day.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/sweetweddingdetails

Spring has arrived and we can hardly stop thinking about shades of pink! The local Cherry Blossoms around the Tidal Basin, the Redbud trees that grace the Shenandoah Valley and the pink Dogwood trees that run along our neighborhoods make us think that Mother Nature’s wake up call is the color pink. The bold pinks that we’ve put together for you are the perfect combo to get you thinking “Spring!” and are sure to inspire some bright weddings.

Happy planning!

Pantone, the world-renowned authority on color, annually announces ‘THE’ color for the upcoming year. On December 8, 2011 they proclaimed the 2012 Winner….a vibrant, energizing hue called…Tangerine Tango!! Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, calls the orange-red color, “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive.”

We think the hue is rich, bold and firey! A perfect color with any theme wedding.  Tangerine Tango can be used to reflect the warm colors of a sunset, the tones of fall or the cheer of the spring.

It will take some time for this newest hue to hit the wedding scene so if you are interested in incorporating it into your palette now look for some strong combinations of orange tones as seen in our Tangerine Tango inspiration board.

A glimpse into our thoughts on some possible seasonal wedding color palettes are:

Spring: Go subtly and marry Tangerine Tango + light yellows and other pale accents such as peach, pink, and ivory.

Summer: Go bold and pair Tangerine Tango + bright purples, fuchsia, turquoise tones and white.

Fall & Winter: Go deep and orchestrate Tangerine Tango + browns, greens, deep crimson, and plum tones.

Tip: To help develop and coordinate your fashionable wedding palette with this years other “it” colors check out the Dessy Group and Pantone’s collaboration: PANTONE WEDDING. It provides inspiration for your wedding by offering a collection of wedding tools for you and for you to share with your vendors. Check it out!

Do you have an iPhone? If you do, then lucky you! This ultra cool app makes any photo that you take an interesting piece of art. I am currently planning a wedding in Leesburg, Virginia for a couple that loves, loves, loves their charming hometown. For their “Taste of Leesburg” wedding, we will be taking photos of their favorite restaurants, streets, and spots in Leesburg using this app and then creating amazing photos for their table name signage. You can find the app at www.hipstamatic.com. Have fun!
